I also have to give huge props for having this be free with the base game instead of paying an extra $60. I've never laughed harder at any VR game. When the game is functional, it's a ton of fun. I will give credit where it's due, though. Even after adjusting to a better performance, it still looks like someone rubbed vaseline in 47's eyes.
The game also looks super fuzzy if you play it on the default settings. Meaning I have to reach past my left shoulder just to grab my pistol. More commonly, when reaching over to grab the item from the bubble, Agent 47's entire body turns to the left. The bubble at your chest that you use to grab the selected item from your inventory often times gets in the way of whatever you're trying to interact with. Either that, or I end up knocking my hands into the back of their head and get shot at. Whenever I've tried to grab an NPC from behind, they get launched into the air and forever float into the abyss. You're constantly fighting the controls just so you can walk forward. It doesn't help that the same button you use to walk straight is the same button you use to open your inventory, which is also the same button to drop the item from your inventory immediately alerting everyone in the vicinity. Even if you do manage to put one foot in front of the other, Agent 47's entire torso starts gyrating like you just tilted an N64 cartridge.
Running anywhere requires precise finger movements that, most of the time, will have you running into the wall or tip-toeing at a snail's pace. I love the Hitman Trilogy, so it's extremely disappointing to see this half baked VR port.įirst off, the controls are god-awful! I'm astounded at some of the choices they made.
This is simply the worst VR performance I've ever had.

I will change my recommendation however if this game does patch the issues into something better but that may be some time away before that happens. Its free and the flat screen game is still the same great quality as the rest of the trilogy but as it is right now DO NOT PLAY THIS OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. This is frankly a embarrassment considering the state of the PSVR being in somehow a better state on lesser hardware and with less development time.
Agent 47's locomotion is strange as his body doesn't really sync with yours and constantly clips, walks strangely like he's crab walking and many other explainable things. If that somehow wasn't bad enough for you going into a real level causes even more fps drops, i averaged around 10 at most. First few seconds into the tutorial and im spinning uncontrollably, everything is glitching out, the frame rate on the tutorial which mind you im running hardware stronger than a PSVR is at 30fps max (the tutorial is empty rooms btw).
